Health Language Enterprise Terminology Platform

New Advanced Terminology Management Platform from Wolters Kluwer helps healthcare organizations improve system interoperability and analytics

Health language enterprise solution improves and streamlines data normalization for enhanced interoperability and more accurate population health analysis.

The Health division of Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today the release of a new enterprise terminology management platform — the most powerful currently available in healthcare — allowing organizations to significantly improve system integration, interoperability and data analysis.

The Health Language® Enterprise Terminology Management Platform helps healthcare organizations maximize investments made in data warehouses, analytics engines and population health management tools by standardizing and normalizing clinical, claims and administrative data from across disparate systems. Additionally, the platform can be leveraged by health information technology vendors to enhance and expand their product offerings.

The Health Language Enterprise Terminology Management Platform includes the LEAP Map Manager module, a tool that supports advanced clinical decision support, predictive analytics and quality reporting by allowing healthcare organizations to leverage clinical and claims data for more accurate and robust analysis and reporting.

LEAP Map Manager enhances data normalization and analysis with the industry’s most sophisticated algorithms, over 1 million clinically curated synonyms and an up-to-date content library of more than 180 standard and proprietary terminologies. It also features enhanced collaboration and workflow management tools that streamline workflow for IT, data warehouse and quality Improvement departments and ensure more consistent coding and terminology management across healthcare organizations with multiple locations. Real-time mapping tools include the ability for users to collaboratively draft and review maps and then publish approved maps to the Language Engine where they can be accessed runtime via a REST API.

“Data integrity supported by a foundation of semantic interoperability is critical to healthcare organizations’ ability to perform meaningful analytics, accelerate population health initiatives and proactively identify gaps in care,” said David A. Del Toro, President and CEO of Clinical Software Solutions at Wolters Kluwer. “The release of the enhanced and fully-integrated Health Language platform demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering a complete terminology management package, allowing healthcare organizations to unlock the value and power of data for improved care delivery.”
