Solstice is an operating system for governance in low-resource regions. Our free data management platform is used in over 170 countries. Solstice also works directly with governments, civil society organizations, and academic researchers on data-driven approaches to reducing poverty.

Solstice is a cloud-based meeting collaboration solution designed to help businesses and higher education institutes manage content sharing, HD streaming, meeting room scheduling and native streaming. Key features include desktop/browser sharing, screen mirroring, targeted/locked screen sharing, annotations and mobile screen sharing.

Teams using Solstice can drag-and-drop posts to alter the order of content, temporarily mark-up and highlight shared content, approve requests from collaborators to post content to the display or join session and add content stream into existing wireless solutions. The dashboard allows technology managers to monitor, configure and control system endpoints across the hosts’ network. Additionally, individuals can share content from their own devices by using Solstice Discovery Service (SDS).

Solstice allows calendar integration, facilitating meeting room scheduling that can be displayed on the welcome screen by participants. Guests and occasional users can also manage native streaming via Miracast and Airplay to share screens without installing the application

Maps in the Solstice Portal are now vector-based. This means that they are drawn in your browser as vectors, which allows you to pick the correct zoom level with more accuracy. The maps will also be faster, and can be rotated and tilted.

Pros

• Solstice was a very polished product and had a great backend admin interface.
• Excellent tool to share to image you computer screen that helps wonders during the meetings 2. This has an option of getting connected using the IP of the monitor you want to get connected with (No hassles of wire cables or Bluetooth connections)
• Solstice works with both Mac and Windows operating systems to screen share. It makes software demonstrations much easier than, say, using PowerPoint slides. Plus, there’s no need to fumble around with cables when on the fly!

Cons

• We ran into many issues where Solstice would work great on some OS versions of MacOS and Windows but not others.
• The options available in the product are quite limited. Options such as making calls using this app, adding more people to that screen share session can be added to the product
• It can be glitchy or difficult to connect, which is often an issue with wifi, but sometimes is caused by the application.
